Kate Moss says ‘I had to tell the truth’ as she breaks silence on Johnny Depp trial

In regards to her involvement in Johnny Depp’s libel case against Amber Heard, Kate Moss has spoken out, claiming that she “had to express the truth.”

The 36-year-old Aquaman actress brought up a rumor that Kate was allegedly shoved down the stairs by Depp while the two were dating, prompting the 48-year-old supermodel to testify as a witness in her ex-multimillion-dollar partner’s US lawsuit against Heard.

After a jury determined that Heard’s 2018 article in the Washington Post was defamatory, Depp won the lawsuit against Heard last month.

Lauren Laverne, the host of BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs, questioned Moss about her defense of Depp during her appearance.

Kate told the host: “I know the truth about Johnny. I know he never kicked me down the stairs.

“I had to say that truth,” she added.

Between 1994 and 1998, Kate, who became famous as one of the world’s top models in the 1990s, was dating the actor from Hollywood.

In response to Depp’s lawsuit against Heard for $50,000,000 USD based on an essay she had written titled: “I spoke up against sexual violence — and faced our culture’s wrath. That has to change.”

Moss gave testimony during the trial in May, appearing via videolink in the Virginia courthouse.
