Chris Evans tells the magazine in this week’s cover story that he would be “pumped” if someone had told him when he was in middle school that he would one day be awarded PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive. “This is probably the way to the cool table where I wasn’t,” the speaker said.
Present-day Evans, 41, is still getting used to his new title and having to discuss it, but he is aware that at least one person would be delighted by this information: “My mum will be so happy,” he adds. She is proud of everything I do, but she can really take pride in this.
Evans is seated in front of the fireplace at a charming farmhouse on an estate outside of Atlanta, Georgia, on a lovely fall day. The Boston native would definitely prefer to jump into said fireplace than talk about being judged sexy, despite the fact that he looks to have thoroughly understood this specific job while wearing a comfortable knit sweater and jeans.

He laughs and explains, “This whole thing is hard to be interviewed about. It seems like a strange version of modest bragging.
The star of Gray Man is also preparing for some amusing jabs from his close buddies. He quips, “Really, this will just be a point of bullying. “Harassment is ready to happen.”
Chris Evans has been chosen as this year’s honoree of PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive, making him a true superhero.
Evans tells PEOPLE that his mother will be overjoyed if he is named the Sexiest Man Alive for 2022. She is proud of everything I do, but she can really take pride in this. He is correct, as his mother Lisa informs PEOPLE “I am not at all shocked. Our family will be inconsolable.”
