People grow up, and they can change some patterns if some significant change happens in their life. However, if we genuinely think about it, change doesn’t happen overnight.
Maybe your ex suddenly became the responsible one, but he will hardly change the complete personality you despised. He may become better at some things, but he is still the same guy that broke your heart.
You should learn from your mistakes, not repeat them. Why waste your time and energy if you know things did not change? Instead, focus on the things that bring you peace and leave the past in the past. If he were the one, he would stick around.
