The 58-year-old Pirates of the Caribbean actor has sued ex-wife Amber, 36, for $50million, claiming that her op-ed for the Washington Post about domestic violence was about him, despite it not directly naming him.
Amber has countersued the actor for $100million over comments made by Johnny’s lawyer, which she claims was defamation.
Over the past six weeks, the jury has heard from both Depp and Heard as well as a host of witnesses, including supermodel Kate Moss, as the couple’s relationship was laid bare for all the world to hear.
Johnny Depp will not be in the courtroom when the verdict in his trial against ex-wife Amber Heard is revealed this afternoon. A source close to Depp, who founded the rock supergroup Hollywood Vampires, tells E! News that the 58-year-old was in town due to “previously scheduled work obligations.” Amber is in the courtroom.
